To the Village

The Dragon Rider Village isn't really that big, about a medium sized town with a giant 'stable' area for the Dragons, stores of every kind, and many occupied and vacant houses. Down the road is an elegant building where the Dragon Council lives and meets. The village is surrounded by a thick wood and only a three hour walk away is the ocean.

Valyrie had arrived in town on the back of a horse. She promptly let the horse return to where it came from after thanking her. She wandered up to what was obviously the meeting hall and perched herself in a tree.

Lia arrives in town, traveling on foot. She has very little travel items: only a bedroll rolled up and hanging from her back and a medium sized bag containing travel items such a food, flint for making a fire, etc. Her cat, Mila, is slumped lazily over her shoulder.

She slowly walks through town, making note of everything there is, until she finally comes to the Dragon Council building. She looks up at it, eyes filled with both hesitation and enthusiasm.

"Well, this is it..." she says, have to herself and half to the cat sleeping on her shoulder.

The doors of the meeting house opens and a wolf walks out, she looks up at Valyrie then looks at Lia.

"I thought I sensed the presence of two newcomers. Welcome to the Dragon Rider Village, tell me." She looks back and forth between the girls. "What brings you here?"

Lia hardly notices the wolf come out until it speaks, as she is so lost in thought. She jumps a little, coming out of her daze.

"Oh! Uh... T-the call for the dragon riders...?" she replies, a little nervously. "I mean, I'm not really a dragon rider yet but I've been planning to become one, so... I came here."

Valyrie hopped down from the tree. She gave the elven salute.

"I am not so new but rather returning. I thought i should lend a hand after all this time."

She nods at Lia's reply "Ah, I see, well, I wish you the best in that goal, and I welcome you," she faces Valyrie "back, as you can see quite a bit has changed."

"Indeed." valyrie glanced around. "Well, treat me like a new recruit. The old council has no sway here and as such i suppose i am new."

"Ah..." Lia looks back and forth between Valyrie and the wolf, not wanting to cut in but needing her question answered. When there's finally a break, she hesitantly cuts in.

"Uh, might I ask...what exactly should I be doing to become a dragon rider? I'm afraid I'm rather new at this, so I don't really know what I should be doing."

Misuto looks over at Lia. "You must wait a be chosen by a dragon, then you may become a rider."

"Oh, I see..."

Lia turns her head back towards the rest of the village. "So, I'm taking it the dragon stable would be the best place to go right now...?"

"Uh, no, the nursery would be your best beat, the dragons in the stables already have riders."

"Alright, then, thank you for your help. I shall return once I've dealt with things there."

She nods at them both and takes her leave, backtracking to where she remembered seeing the nursery. Lia walks in and takes a look around, instantly feeling rather overwhelmed.

Little dragons of all breeds run around the nursery a little ice dragon runs by but pauses and looks at the newcomer curiously. sniffing at her a bit before running off again.

Lia looks down at the little ice dragon. As it runs off, she slowly follows after it and kneels down next to it, smiling and reaching her hand out towards it slowly.

"Hello there," she says gently. "Aren't you a pretty dragon? Come here."

Valyrie faced the wolf. "So where would you place me? Where can i be of most help?"

Misuto thinks a moment. "I think the balcksmith is short on help, go speak with him."

Asiu looks at Lia and sniffs at her hand before once again running off.

"Thank you." Valyrie smiles then frowns. "May i ask you for a small favor?"

Misu tilts her head to the side a bit in question. "And what would that be?"

Lia frowns a little as the dragon runs off again. She once again follows it and kneels as before.

"Why are you running?" she asks, keeping her voice soft so as not to scare him. "I'm not trying to hurt you."

Kaisen walks in with Kaze on his shoulder, he notices Lia following the little ice dragon whenever it runs from her.

"You know if they run from you it probably means that they aren't going to chose you."

"I was hoping you knew someone named Oromis."

Lia looks up at him, then back at the dragon, frowning. She sighs as she stands up.

"Well, it was the only one that came up to me when I first walked in... I figured I'd at least try."

"Oromis? Yes, that name does sound familiar, why do you ask?"


"First off, that was a she, second, if she'd chosen you she wouldn't run from you."

"Is Oromis alright? He may have another name is going by but, he always dresses in all white." She says. Mumbling to herself she adds, "Always looked like walking sunglare..."
