To The Town

Count D watches the poor creature be taken away. He frowns. Then he smiles and turns back to his sweets! "I just love triple fudge cake!"

As Zim drags Gir out a girl walks in, she looks at them curiously as they pass by but then shakes it off and starts looking around, she seems rather depressed about something...

Count D sees the girl walk in. "Welcome to Count D's Petshop. In here we have many animals, from common things like cats and dogs, to animals that barely slide past the C.I.T.E.S list." He said smiling.

Daphne looks at D and attempts a smile. "Oh um, hello. I'm Daphne Blake...this is an adorable petshop you have here... "

"Thank you Miss Daphne! Are you here to buy a pet? Perhaps a bird or maybe a rabbit?"

"Well, honestly I only came here to look, if that's alright of course"

"Of course! Would you perhaps like some tea and sweets? I have some fresh cookies from the oven."

"Uh, sure, thank you." She looks over at the puppies and walks over, she kneels next to the little kennel and picks one up. "Aww, this one looks like a friend of mine..." mostly to herself she adds "I wonder how Scooby's doing..." She sighs sadly and pets the puppy.

"Oh? You know of someone with a breed like him? They are rather rare you know."

She continues to pet the puppy but looks up at D and nods "The dog's name was Scooby-Doo...My friend's name was Shaggy"

"Oh my... you say he was named Scooby-Doo. What happened?"

She looks at the pup sadly "He was sent away to a farm while his owner was sent to military school..."

"That poor dog. Without his owner! That is so very cruel!" Count D frowns thinking. 'You shouldnt take a dog away from a loved owner! How could they those little..'

"Yeah, well," She gently puts the pup back in the kennel. "Shaggy's parents thought it best that Scooby be taken somewhere where he'd be taken care of while Shaggy was gone..." Again mostly to herself "I think they just wanted to seperate them on purpose though..."

The Count continues to frown. "I'm guessing there is more to this story."

"Well, yes but I wouldn't want to bore you with my little sob story." She stands and dusts the fur off her dress. "So, um, about that tea and cookies again?"

"Oh! yes of course." Count D brings back a small plate of cookies and places them on a table next to the tea. "Please help yourself." The count eats a cookie of his own.

Daphne smiles and takes a cookie. "Thank you." She takes a bite "hmm, these are very good."

"They are! It's a special recipe used in only remote areas of Swahili."

A little bird with green wings come flying in to the room and lands on the Count's shoulder. He laughs.

"Are you hungry too?" The Count gives the bird a piece of the cookie.

"What a pretty bird, what breed is it?"

"She is a rare breed of Dove from Swahili. Perhaps she recognized the name? Her name is Dafina." The Count sighs as he pets the little bird.

"A dove with green wings? Huh, that's new..."

"Yes, but she is rather beautiful." The bird flew over and hovered around Daphne as if asking if she could land on her shoulder.

Daphne smiles at the little bird and gives a small nod letting the bird know she could land. She then gently strokes the bird with a finger. "How odd is it, Scooby could actually talk, and because of that I can actually understand animals a bit..."

"That is quite lucky! Dafina seems to like you very much, maybe its because you understand her."
