To The Town

"I got an owner and she is really nice!" Dafina begins telling him about Daphne.

"Ah I see, we'll I'm happy for you!" Femto then looks back at D and smiling as innocently as ever says. "Oh, by the way D, I ran into that one guy Leon on my way here, he asked me where your shop was and I told him, he said he'll be here in a few minutes"

"What?! Why did you do that! He isn't supposed to come here!"

"He wasn't? Oh, well uh, I guess it's a bit to late now huh? By the way I'm suprised that annoying owner of the place hasn't dropped by yet..." Femto takes another cookie and bites into it.

"Ugh! Don't even remind me about him! He doesn't even understand how much it hurts to break a nail! Let alone how to be polite!"

"Yeah, well-" Femto is cut off by the door slamming open and a guy standing there.

"Finally!! It took almost years but I've found you once again D!"

"Leon! How's it going would you like a cookie?" The count asks completely innocently as he holds the cookie plate out to him.

"Why the hell would I want a cookie?!? What I want is it know what the that little show was when you left!! I mean what is this place?! Who no-"what exactly are you?! Lots of questions need awnsering! NOW!"

"How rude! How about some tea then? Not that you deserve it."

"Questions! Answer! NOW!!!" Leon says obviously getting more and more pissed off by the second.

For once The Count got serious. "Ask your questions. Drink your tea. I'll answer what i can."

Leon sits down on the couch but doesn't take any tea. "First question, who or what are you?"

Femto looks from Count to Leon. "I'm just gonna...go say hi to some people..." He then quietly gets up, steals a few more cookies from the plate D was holding, and headed off.

Count D put the plate down and faced Leon. "I suppose you want to know why my father, grandfather, and I all look alike? The gene in us makes it so that each children born of ours is born with our abilities and similar looks. Are you ready for a long story Leon? Or shall i condense it to a few sentences?"

"I've got time." Leon said as he leaned back into the chair and a couple cats jumped into his lap.

D sighed. "Very well then. My grandfather was very kind to animals as a boy. He once saved a small female fox who was protecting her children. This fox spoke to him. She told him that for saving her she would endow him with the powers we have now. She did however warn him that for some abilities we had to use blood and that we must never eat meat. If we ate meat of an animal's flesh then we would be consumed by a hunger for all flesh. It wouldn't take much either. Our blood would be unknown and we would also live quite long lives and age very slowly. I do not know what we are to be called exactly. Only that i also do not have to eat normally. Which is quite convenient with my sweet tooth. Anything else Leon?

"Alright, then what about," *he picks up one of the cats holding it by the scruff of the neck. "Why did I see them as humans on that weird ship, which is actually another question of mine, what was that ship?"

"When your mind is freed you can see the possibilities. Did i not tell you that before? You were open to seeing things differently. You were seeing the souls of the animals. Their true selves on the inside. Their personality, their being. Only some people can see them. Some people are open and can see them as such anytime they want but those who are not open cannot see them. You had a moment of clarity. That ship is what gave you the clarity. That 'ship' as you put it, is a sanctuary for animals. It was given to me as a present from the fox goddess my grandfather helped."

"uh-huh...." He stares blankly for a moment before asking. "What kind of crack are you on to make me beleive a bullshit story like that?!?"

Count D glared at him. "This is why i hate humans! I have told you the truth and you refuse to believe it! Accept it or don't. I have said what i will!"

"Tch, whatever, I'll play into your little fantasy or whatnot, so tell me, why'd you run?"

"Why did i run? What do you mean?"

"I mean why did you leave?"

"Because it was time for me to leave. I had to move on. If i had stayed my shop would have been put out and then where would i be, hm? Right! Without sweets!"

"Geez, you and sweets, I'm surprised you haven't gotten diabetes or something yet."

"Actually, i was tested and was found completely healthy! Even though HE thought i was pregnant and tried to drag me out.. idiot." Count mumbled the last part quietly.
