To The Town

"How sweet, sadly I wouldn't be able to take her, my parents and I are only here on visit, we don't live in Japan."

"Now that is not a problem at all! I could have her delivered to you where you normally live!" The Count was in full on 'sale' mode. 'Dafina has never liked anyone else that comes in here, and it does seem the girl has someone far away she wishes to see.'

"Thanks, but no, I don't think my parents would really want a bird in the house, mom doesn't really like them for some reason..." She holds the back of her hand to her shoulder so the Dafina could hop into it.

Dafina hops onto her hand and coo's at her. "That's a shame. Perhaps if your mother came by she would change her mind. I do so hate to see a pet not able to go with the one they like."

"Sorry...actually" She pauses as she thinks a bit and strokes Dafina's belly a bit. "Maybe I can keep her hidden...after all my parents never go into my room...even if they do i could just cover the cage with a sheet or something..."

"Well there you are! Now before you buy the bird there are a few rules i must tell you first."

"Um, ok..."

"Rule one, you are always to allow her an entire day of rest. Please cover her cage while she sleeps. Rule number two, you must never neglect her. Do not forget her food or water. The third and final rule is that you must love her. Remember these things." The count then went back to daintily sipping his tea.

"That sounds easy enough, I'm sure I can do that!"

"Good. Now all that is left is to get the necessary supplies! Shall i send her with the supplies to your house directly?"

"Um, no, not to my house...but I have a friend you could send them to! Her name is Velma! I'm sure she can take care of everything til I can come pick them up."

"Alright I will do that. Now something to tell you about Dafina is that she can carry messages for you to anywhere you like. Just tell her the address like you would a person and she will find it. Which is the reason for the first rule. It does not matter how far she flies only that she gets the rest after."

"Is that so? Hmm, but what if you don't know where the person you wish to give a message to is?"

"Just give her a name. She will find them."

Daphne's smile becomes genuine. "Thank you!" she gently nuzzles Dafina a bit. before holding her hand out so Dafina could fly off. "I can't wait to see you at home I'm sure you'll like it...but I think right now I'd better go catch up with my parents before mom had a panic attack..."

Dafina nuzzles her cheek in return and then flies back to her perch in the room.

"Please come by if your ever in Tokyo again Miss Daphne. Have a safe trip home."

"Thank you Count, and I defiantly will!" She waves before turning and heading out the door.

As Daphne exits a boy walks in "Hey Count! Been a while!"

"Hello your Highness! How are you?"

"Fine, how about you and everyone else?" He goes over sits in a chair takeing a cookie off the plate.

"Oh we are all fine. So what are you doing here?"

"I got bored so I decided to come down and visit." He takes a bite of the cookie.

"Ah I see."

"You won't mind if I hang out here a while right? Tokiwa went off on one of his jobs a left me behind again." He finishes off the cookie.

"Of course i don't mind. Just don't disturb me when I am feeding the pets."

"Right, right." he looks over at Dafina "You seem happy, what's changed with you?"
